Bella is Learning About Her Community!

These next couple of weeks we are doing a community theme through our Adventures in Learning boxed curriculum. I went searching online to find some fun games and activities to go along with it...

I made a playlist on Youtube of several community videos...HERE

I found many activities through Homeschool Helper Online....HERE

---Bella's favorites: a matching game called What's My Job, the Community Club, and Ben's
Guide Community Map

We also have some community themed books on hold from our library...loving the hold option from my library's online catalog by the way...if only they had a drive-thru window it would be perfect hehe.

One of our books we will be reading is Petunia. I found a great lapbook to go along with it HERE

Halloween!

Had a blast with the girls on Halloween. We ended up only going around our block because Daddy was home sick. I gave the girls these really cute (small) buckets so that when they were full, we were done. Hey they're 2 and 3, they don't know they could have got more!

Halloween Crafts! (note: I officially hate glitter)

Park day with the girls!

Some pictures of the girls from this past Saturday in the park...

Isabella is getting so big, can't believe she's going to be 4 next month. Amelia is crazy as ever in her "crazy twos" (she's not so terrible.) And Victoria is two months today. Happy Birthday Tori!

Off to take 2 month pics of my baby girl...

Fire Safety Unit

One of the themes from this months Adventures in Learning box is fire safety, so I decided to gather a few videos and activities to supplement our unit.

My next project...

I really want to make some new shelves for the girls bedroom and I'm leaning towards the rain gutter shelves like the ones seen here. They look fairly easy to make, so hopefully I'll be able to do them myself.

Various tutorials here and here. I love the idea of putting one long shelf under a window and then additional shelves on each side of the window. This will be perfect for the girls bedroom.

Homeschool Planning 10-12-09

I decided that the best way for me to plan out our homeschooling week is to do it here. That way I can have my lists, links, and info all in one place. We are finally starting our Sonlight reading list for Preschool 3-4. We'll also be doing many activities from our Mother Goose Time and Adventures in Learning monthly boxes. Pictures to come!

1) Chika Chika Boom Boom - Bill Martin Jr.
