One of the themes from this months Adventures in Learning box is fire safety, so I decided to gather a few videos and activities to supplement our unit.

My next project...
I really want to make some new shelves for the girls bedroom and I'm leaning towards the rain gutter shelves like the ones seen here. They look fairly easy to make, so hopefully I'll be able to do them myself.
Various tutorials here and here. I love the idea of putting one long shelf under a window and then additional shelves on each side of the window. This will be perfect for the girls bedroom.

Homeschool Planning 10-12-09
I decided that the best way for me to plan out our homeschooling week is to do it here. That way I can have my lists, links, and info all in one place. We are finally starting our Sonlight reading list for Preschool 3-4. We'll also be doing many activities from our Mother Goose Time and Adventures in Learning monthly boxes. Pictures to come!
1) Chika Chika Boom Boom - Bill Martin Jr.
**Videos:
**Snack Time idea from Little Giraffes -
Give each child a celery stalk, peanut butter, and alphabet cereal. They
can stick the letters to the 'tree' with the peanut butter
**Craft idea from The Virtual Vine - Create tree using paper towel roll to form trunk, leaves
from construction paper and buttons for coconuts. Create letters for trunk using die cuts or
alphabet cereal.
**Board game idea from The Virtual Vine
**Scavenger hunt idea that I will adjust to use in our home.
**Chicka Chicka Boom Boom information and ideas from Scholastic
**We will make the lapbook designed by Lapbooks by Carisa
**Doorknob hanger from Making Learning Fun
**Many more great ideas on Homeschool Share
2) Freight Train - Donald Crews
**Train lapbook from Homeschool Share
**Snack Train idea from Preschool Express
Cut empty egg carton in half, serve snacks (cargo) in them.
**Dramatic play - train
**Play with our Fisher-Price Amazing Animals Train
3) Goodnight Moon - Margaret Wise Brown
Videos:
and just for fun...
**Make Cream of Wheat for breakfast (bowl full of mush)
**Lapbook from Homeschool Share
4) I Hear, I See, I Touch - by Helen Oxenbury
**We're gonna play some senses games that came with our Mother Goose

Us 2: Them 3
Welcome Family and Friends! Yes its another blog...who knows how long I'll go till this one goes by the wayside...
But I hope to actually follow through consistently with this one. I even made it look great as an incentive. Thanks to blog kit by Shabby Miss Jen Designs.
So please come back and visit often. I will be posting pictures of our girls and what they are up to.
Hugs,
Jen
